Angels 1st team make one of their longer journeys this Saturday when they visit Brightlingsea Regent on the North East Essex coast for a Bostik Premier Match kicking off at 3:00pm. The hosts play at The Taydal Stadium, North Road, Brightlingsea, CO7 0PL with road being the best option to reach there despite a tedious journey along the A12. There is no train station at Brightlingsea(closed in 1964 - blame Beeching!)which means travelling to Colchester including engineering work although there is a regular bus service from the station to Brightlingsea taking around one hour.
For those unable to make the journey, then there is football at Longmead on Saturday when the U21 Developmemt team take on Chatham Town in a Suburban South league game kicking off at 3:00pm. Chris Wye’s side have made a terrific start to the season, can they keep up the good work.
On Sunday attention turns to Ladies and Youth. The girls are in Kent Cup action at Hadlow College TN11 0AL where they entertain Margate with a 2:00pm kick off. Our three youth teams are all on their travels in their respective Kent Youth League competitions. The U18s are away to Hastings Utd at the Salts TN31 7NU, the U15s make the relatively short journey to play Bearsted at Otham Sports Club ME15 8RG, while the U14s have a longer trip to play Sheppey Utd at Holm Park, ME12 3DB. All these games kick off at 11:00am.
Finally, the U19s Academy have an important match away to Thamesmead Town in the FA Youth Cup 1st Qualifying round on Monday evening with a 7:45pm kick off. This match will be played at Rochester Utd, ME2 3TU.
As ever your support to any of these games would be much appreciated.
