Tonbridge Angels FC is delighted to announce that Dave Netherstreet is the new Club Chair following Steve Churcher’s temporary tenure.
Dave is well known around Longmead as the director responsible for stadium infrastructure and for the last five years has ensured that our ground is fit and proper to stage semi-professional football at Steps 2 and 3 in The Non-League pyramid. Before joining the Board, Dave was part of the stewarding team and has been supporting the Angels since 2005.
In a realignment of roles, Amy Weaver in her third term on the Board becomes vice chair. Amy is credited with revolutionising the catering offer at Longmead and with bringing the entire operation in house with a resultant positive effect on the club’s finances. Going forward Amy will continue to oversee catering but will also drive policy on Community and Charity initiatives, that are ever increasing areas of importance for the club.
Long serving and experienced Vice Chair Chris Drew steps down but will continue to manage the vital relationship between the Club and its main sponsor Hadlow College as well as hosting post match presentations and other events.
Roger Maddams has also reluctantly decided to resign from the Board with immediate effect due to increasing work commitments. We thank Roger for his valuable initiative in drawing up the Three Year Plan for the club that has provided a sound template for moving forward.
Owners are asked to continue to give support to the directors in their new roles and also to the other Board Members, Dave Couldridge, Peter Elves, Malcolm McLean and Vanessa Yates as they all continue to lead your club through the various opportunities and challenges that lie ahead as the club enters its Platinum Season.
Finally, sincere thanks are given to Steve Churcher for agreeing to stay on an interim basis while new roles for Board members were confirmed.
