Volunteers Day brings results

1 week ago By Jim Rowe

Thanks to those who turned up

Despite temperatures more akin to the Mediterranean, 32 volunteers turned up bright and early on Sunday 1st July and fortified by one of Amy Weaver’s delicious bacon rolls, carried out a number of tasks to help make the ground look spic and span for the forthcoming season.

Among the tasks carried out were:-

Washing and cleaning all the perimeter advertising boards
Emptying the pigeon hut of basically junk
Painting various building including the Tea Shack and Programme Hut
The creation of a Gym in the Kit Room

The club is extremely grateful for this valuable work which despite the energy sapping temperatures was carried out in a spirt of good humour and enthusiasm by directors, club officials, owners, supporters and players. Don’t worry if you missed out - another Volunteers Day is to be arranged possibly in the Autumn. Look out for announcements.
