This season (2016/17) our Academy will have two teams one in the Football National Youth Alliance, Divsion B, the other in the SCL Youth Development League West Division.
We wish both teams every success and an enjoyable and competitive year.
Tonbridge Angels Football Club Football Academy in partnership with SCL and Hugh Christie Technology College.

The Tonbridge Angels Football Club Football Academy reflects an ethos which combines the provision of football excellence with a full-time education programme.
Our Academy will be competing in the English Schools and Colleges League as well as having direct access to the clubs Ryman Youth Under 18 squad.
Professional coaching by UEFA Licensed Coaches.
Strong emphasis on progressing Academy players into the Reserve and First Team squad.
Level 2/3 Diploma in Sport and A level options.
What is The Football Academy?
The Football Academy is a 2-year, full-time Education and Football Development programme delivered in partnership with Professional and Non-League Football Clubs.
Open to talented footballers aged between 16–18 years, the Academy Programme is a must for any football enthusiast. A playing trial will be required as places will be offered based on playing ability.

You will have access to 4 football teams, it’s our job to find the right level for you and to promote you to the next level as soon as you are ready – hopefully the first team if you are good enough.

Tonbridge Angels also runs a vibrant Community scheme. This offers many opportunities for coaching employment for our academy scholars and graduates. You will also get opportunity to become a licensed coach.
Who are the coaching Staff and the Academy Manager?
Chris Hollyoak: Director.
Chris has 19 years coaching experience at semi professional level. Chris's experience extends to coaching in the USA, and he now coaches the reserve team and the under 19 academy team at Tonbridge Angels.
John Gibbons: Director
John has 17 years of coaching experience also at semi professional clubs and elite schools level. Currently John also coaches the Under 18 Ryman youth team and the under 19 academy team at Tonbridge Angels.
State of the art video analysis, training and match analysis software is used to assist player development.
All academy players will receive daily training involving individual and team coaching from highly qualified FA coaches affiliated to the football club.
Players will receive guidance on individual football fitness, nutritional advice and a regular appraisal to monitor each players development both on and off the pitch.
Players will have the opportunity to represent the football club through the Academy, Youth, or Reserve Team, with the aim to progress into the first team or higher.
You will also have access to our North American scholarship placement programme and independent North American Agent.
Where will the Academy be held?
The base of the Academy will be Longmead Stadium, home of the Tonbridge Angels. The facilities include Common Room, with Television and Food servery, treatment and fitness rooms, training areas and artificial surface 5 a side pitches.
What Education Programme will I study?
Over the 2-year duration, players will have options to study a variety of National Recognised Qualifications within the subject of Sport, Coaching & Fitness.
Players will study the BTEC level 3 Diploma in Sport, (A-Level equivalence), FA Coaching Qualifications together with core skills in Maths and English.
Successful completion of the educational programme will enable players to follow pathways into Higher Education at selected Universities and employment opportunities within the sport and leisure industry, including coaching placements and playing scholarships in America.
Our Partnership with Hugh Christie Technology College also enables us to offer other A level equivalents (OCR) as well as traditional A levels.
Who will deliver the Education?
The club have linked with SCL, a Further Education and Work Based Training Provider, who will be responsible for the management and delivery of the educational element of the Academy.
SCL currently work in partnership with many Sixth Form Schools, Further Education Colleges and Football Academies in the South of England and have over 10-years of experience successfully delivering vocational and academic sports based qualifications.
The SCL team consists of highly qualified and experienced Teachers, Assessors, Verifiers and FA Coach Educators.
Additionally, we are proud to be associated with Hugh Christie Technology College and can offer traditional or vocational A level packages.
What are the Costs?
Both the Football and Educational element of the Academy is fully funded and therefore there is no cost to join the programme.
There will be a cost for purchasing training kit at the start of the season. Further details will be provided upon the player’s acceptance into the Football Academy.
