Ladies overwhelm Aylesford Reserves
Record win for our Girls!
Emphatic win for the Ladies as they delivered a clinical 10-2 win over Aylesford Reserves at Tonbridge Farm yesterday. Remarkably though the first goal didn't arrive until the 24th minute and it went to the visitors, a smart ball out wide finding Allison Earle who cut in and finished neatly into the far corner. It didn't take long for the tables to be turned, as Abigail Skilton equalised straight from the kick off, and from the next restart the Angels immediately attacked and a high ball down the right was met by a dipping volley on the angle from Skilton that gave the goalkeeper no chance.
On the half hour a Tonbridge corner dropped to Helena Fothergill on the edge of the box who volleyed high into the net for a 3-1 lead. Skilton completed her hat-trick just before the break, then scored twice more within three minutes of the start of the second half. Samantha James got in on the act with a tidy finish on 52 minutes, before Skilton rounded the keeper to score her sixth and final goal in the 59th minute to make it 8-1.
Aylesford pulled a consolation effort six minutes later before Ellie Brett scored two late chipped goals to take the scoreline into double figures.
The Ladies have a well-deserved week off next Sunday before travelling to Phoenix Sports on October 16th for the opening round of the KCFA Plate competition.
