Improved performance from U21's

"Progress has been made and we will move forward" - Chris Wye

Despite losing 2-0, the Under-21s produced a much improved performance this afternoon away at Broadbridge Heath.

Chris Wye said, after the game: "It was a lot better obviously. We conceded a minute before half time (which was offside, however, young Nick Ithier was running the line and didn't give it). Broadbridge scored the second five minutes before the end after taking my right back off and getting exposed as the player filling in wasn't a full back but centre midfielder. We had a good defensive shape with one new centre back coming in and two full backs returning. We kept the ball well but with no real cutting edge as yet. Charlie McTigue in goal only had one real save to make throughout which he did well with a great save. Progress has been made and we will move forward again this week through training. We started without Dom Welsh and had Ebs, Stevie Paniyi, Dan Scantlebury and Will Eze missing today too. Bring these back in and I have a couple of other additions and things should continue in the right direction.
