Defensive lapses cost U21s
"We need to improve on penetrating the opposition"
Chris Wye reflected on a 3-0 defeat to K Sports at Hadlow on Saturday: “It was the K Sports striker that made the difference in this game scoring all three in our 3-0 defeat. The first was scored within five minutes when the ball was squared to find him free in the box to slot in. The second was scored around 30 minutes in when the ball dropped to the striker as the defence failed to clear the ball from a corner. Frustratingly, after working so hard on possession, we failed to keep the ball and this resulted in a scrappy game. The third goal was scored after possession was once again squandered and the K Sports striker broke through to beat the keeper at the near post. We still need to improve on penetrating the opposition but this will come as the players start to gel more.”
