Angels U15s Announce Squad for 2018/19

3 months ago By Jim Rowe

Tough season ahead in Kent Youth League Central Division

Tonbridge Angels U15s will once again compete in the Kent Youth League Central Division this season (2018/19). After 24 tough league games last season and finishing third, the Under-15’s have bolstered their squad. All of last season’s squad have re-signed and Angels have added four new players. Leo Hazelwood has joined from Maidstone United, Jamie Lawrence from Thamesview, Finlay Nwanosike from Kings Hill and Hayden Exall from Gillingham.

The squad is therefore:

1 Nat Gibb
3 Leo Hazelwood
4 David Howie
5 Jack Balcombe
6 Toby Kent
7 Joe Tyrie
8 Ben Hermitage
9 Billy Kent
10 Toby Lansdowne
11 Kian Austin
12 Alex Raffelt
14 Hayden Exall
15 Finlay Nwanosike
16 Dan Wates
17 Chester Smith
18 Jack Wilkins
19 Jamie Lawrence
20 Connor Murphy

Manager, Todd Tyrie, said: "The lads were fantastic last year but there were times when we only had 11 or 12 players and also went out of both cups early. The boys have made all the new lads feel really welcome and I’m very proud of that, they know competition for places is part of football and it’s going to be a very long, tough season with 24 league games and the cup. Welling United, K Sports and Kent Football United have joined the Central division which is going to make it very competitive. The provisional league is looking like Ebbsfleet, Danson Sports, Maidstone, Sevenoaks, Bearsted, K Sports, Kent Football United, Kings Hill, Langton Green, Larkfield, Welling United and Tonbridge Angels."

The boys are now in full pre-season training. Tommy Parkinson from the Academy has been great, helping us arrange some pre-season training. Hugo Langton put on a great session for us last week and hopefully Damian Scannell is going to be doing some conditioning training with them too. We will also have our two day training camp with Henry Muggeridge before end of August and friendlies against Eastbourne Borough (which has subsequently been played resulting in a 1-0 defeat), Crowborough (29th August at 6.30 pm at Hadlow) and Kennington (2nd September, 11 a.m. at Hadlow) have been arranged.

A big thank you to R J Kent Building Services and Lokring Southern (UK) and Caspian who continue to sponsor us.
